The National Resistance Movement (NRM) which is also the ruling party has postponed the primary elections for Mawogora West Constituency in Ssembabule District after Hon Anifa Kawoya one of the contenders petitioned the NRM Electoral Commission over irregularities .
The polls were expected to be held tomorrow 4th September 2020. Kawoya is battling with Hon Sekabito Joseph.
According to the letter issued by NRM EC Boss Dr Tanga Odoi says. “The Commission under MIN NRM EC 029/2020 has decided to postpone the NRM Primary elections for member of Parliament for Mawogora West County to date that will be communicated,” reads part of the letter which Dr Tanga Odoi issued.
Dr Tanga Odoi says this has been done to allow NRM Electoral Commission time to investigate the complaint to enable Kawoya attend her medial attention. “The rest of the elections in Sembabule will continue as planned,” Says Tanga
