Police Raid NUP Offices in Jinja

Police have raided the National Unity Platform (NUP) party offices based in Jinja District.

According to the National Unity Platform (NUP) Spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi, Police has so far arrested an office attendant and party other coordinators.

“We’ve learnt about the raid on NUP offices in Jinja by heavily armed police officers. They’ve arrested the office attendant plus one of our coordinators. And then you hear our leaders say that they returned democracy to the country. Just like their predecessors, they too will go!” Ssenyonyi tweeted on his social media page.

The intention of the raid is still unknown. This comes almost three weeks since a joint force of police and the army raided the NUP national secretariat in Kamwokya were the confiscated red berets and any military materials that a synonymous with the NUP.
