Opposition Forum for Democratic change party disciplinary Committee has summoned party senior members to appear before it for questioning for going against the party rules and decisions in Arua by-elections.
Former FDC party president Mugisha Muntu and Jinja East MP Paul Mwiru are expected to appear before the party disciplinary committee this Friday for defying party decision and supporting independent candidate in Arua Municipality by-election.
According to sources from FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi, party president Patrick Amuriat over the weekend met with other senior leaders and reached a decision that Mugisha muntu is becoming a problem to the party if they don’t trim his wings.
The meeting was attended by party vice president for Buganda region also Lubaga mayor Joyce Nabbosa Sebugwawo, Alice Alaso, Deputy SG Harold Kaija, party national chairman Wasswa Biriggwa and SG Nathan Nandara Mafabi among others.
Sources added that, members forced party president Amuriat to take action against whoever is trying to divide the party.
Mugisha muntu and Paul Mwiru were last week summoned to come and give reasons as to why they decided to support Kasiano Wadiri who is contesting on independent ticket but failed to appear in Najjanankumbi.
Gen Muntu recently said he campaigned for Wadri because he knows him personally and warned that for Opposition to take power, they must go beyond the party and individual differences.
Former Terego county Member of Parliament who lost the election is running on independent ticket against the party official candidate Bruce Musema.
FDC spokesperson Ibrahim Semujju Nganda who couldn’t be reached for a comment recently was quoted as saying “The issue of Wadri Kasiano is not an ordinary thing because he is one of the founders of the party and a senior one, that is why his candidature has been divisive, but every FDC member will have to support the party’s candidate,”.
