Detectives at central police station cps Kampala are holding head of security officer at Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and his junior over allegations of stealing products which the company impounds from the field.
The arrested head of security has been identified as David Iduri and his junior identified as Tom Anyuyo who are being detained at cps Kampala.
According to our source, Iduri’s arrest came after police through its intelligence arrested a guard also attached to UNBS for stealing over 80 iron bars which UNBS had impounded from the field for not meeting their standards.
After the arrest of the guard, he pinned Iduri his boss whom he said that he had stolen most of the materials and decided to give him the remaining.
UNBS public relations officer Godwin Muhwezi Bonge confirmed the arrest of Iduri and his junior but couldn’t confirm the charges being placed against them.
“It’s true our staff have been arrested and are now with police at the central police station Kampala but I can’t confirm to you which charges have they been put . I will get back to you if I get all details”.
Luke Owoyesigire the police mouth piece for Kampala metropolitan also confirmed their arrest saying that the two were arrested by police on allegations of stealing materials which are always impounded by UNBS staff.
