Detectives investigating a case where city businessman David Katumwa is being accused of defiling a 16 year old girl and participated in her disappearance have recorded statements from two people who have confessed and pinned of having seen the girl moving with him inside car before she disappeared.
Katumwa was arrested by plain cloth detectives attached at katwe police station from his home in Makindye Kizunga a Kampala suburb.
Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy police spokesperson for Kampala metropolitan confirmed the recording of statements from two people who allege that they saw the girl moving with Katumwa before her disappearance.
“Our detectives investigating Katumwa’s case have recorded statements from two people who allege to have seen the girl moving with Katumwa before her disappearance,” says Luke Owoyesigyire.
Katumwa’s arrest came after the mother of the girl one Mrs. Yasimin Ahmed aged 37 years and a resident of makindye kizungu went to katwe police station and told them that Katumwa knows the whereabouts of her girl because she has been told by many people that the two have been together in Natete.
Luke added that the file has been sent to the resident state attorney RSA for legal advice after attaching the statements from these people.
The mouthpiece also told us that Katumwa is still being detained at katwe police station pending the legal advice from the RSA’s office.
