COVID-19: Uganda’s Death Toll Rises to 56 as 179 Test Positive

Uganda has registered one (1) COVID19 death from Kitgum bringing the total number of COVID19 deaths to fifty six (56).

The ministry of health Uganda has also confirmed 179 new COVID-19 cases from 3,473 samples tested on 13th September, 2020.

Of the confirmed cases, 173 are alerts and contacts including 29 from Kampala,   21 from Gulu, 24 from Kitgum, 13 from Wakiso, 9 from Hoima , 8 from Lamwo, 7 from Butaleja, 9 from Lira, 8 from Kiryandongo, 5 from Amuru, 4 from Buikwe, 8 from Nyowa, 2 from Arua , 2 from Maracha, 2 from Nwoya, 2 from Masaka , 2 from Soroti , 1 from Kanungu, 1 from             Kiboga , 1 from Apac, 1 from Bunyangabu, 1 from Busia, 1 from Isingiro, 1 from Kikuube, 1 from Kumi, 1 from Lamwo, 1 from Masindi, 2 from Nabilatuk, 1 from Nakapiripirit, 1 from Nebbi, 1 from oyam, 1 from Sembabule and 1 from Yumbe.

The other six (6) are returnees from India.

The ministry also notes that five (5) foreign truck drivers including 4 Congolese and 1 Kenyan who tested positive for COVID19 were not permitted entry in to the country.

To date, Uganda registers a cumulative total of 4,978 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 2,317 recoveries and fifty six (56) COVID19 deaths.
